Deadline for Purchasing Seedlings at Lone Peak Nursery is May 21, 2009

The Lone Peak Nursery operated by the State of Utah will be closing operations on June 30, 2009 as a result of budget cuts. The Lone Peak Nursery has been a great resource for purchasing native plants from the Electric Lake region of the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Among those native plants available is the Engelmann Spruce tree seedlings, which is the species that was impacted by the beetle kill and cut down in the logging project of the association.

Property owners that are interested in replanting the Engelmann Spruce, along with other native plants can purchase those seedlings from the Lone Peak Nursery located at 271 W Bitterbrush Ln, Draper, UT Phone: (801) 571-0900 or Email manager Brandon Long at brandonlong@utah.gov Because of the closing of the nursery, the deadline for purchasing seedlings will be May 21, 2009. For more information about the Lone Peak Nursery and purchasing seedlings, go to their website link: http://ffsl.utah.gov/lonepeak/nursery/lonepeaknursery.php
